Fraser Island

From the zoo to the sandy Fraser Island. It is the largest sand island in the world. The only way onto the island is a ferry and a 4 wheel drive vehicle( so we left our beaut of a station wagon on the main land). We took a two day safari through dry desert like areas and into rainforests, the island has very diverse trees and shrubs. We went to an inland freshwater lake surrounded by sand dunes that was like being in an oasis. The island is know for dingos and of course we got to see a dingo in the last half hour of our trip. Our return to the mainland was on a sunset cruise and it was a great way to end our two days.
