The Great Ocean Road
After Ayers Rock we headed south down to Aidelaide. It took a few days to get there and it still was miles and miles before you hit anything.
We went to a little town called Cober Pedy the Opal Capital of Australia and let me tell you it was the strangest town we've ever been to. Out in the middle of nowhere and very very hot, not a stitch of grass anywhere and 75% of towns buildings are underground. Had a very eerie feeling to it.
We spent 2 days in Adelaide, did some shopping and walked the city alot.
After that we headed along the Great Ocean Road. It was a windy, narrow drive along the coast that took us 3 days. We stopped alot to look at the beautiful sites along the ocean. One being the 12 Apostoles. Which is 12 rock formations, now just 11 because 1 one them crumbled into the ocean just before we arrived there. We did some amazing hikes where we saw alot of koalas, kangaroos, emus in the wild and some beautiful waterfalls. We stopped in tiny villages for the night and they had many great shops with some nice beaches, but unlike the outback it was alot colder and wasn't beach weather. 3 days later and we arrived in Melbourne.
