Ushuaia -post 3

We got a hike recommended to us called Laguna Esmerelda. This is about a 10 km round trip hike but it is fairly flat and over a peat bog so it is a bit spongy to walk on. Weather was supposed to be warm ( 17 ) but possibly wet so it was cloudy. Luckily no rain ( which we are getting today with a high of only 7 and possible snow tomorrow hence the blogging) but cloudy. A long but well worth it hike.
This area has been greatly affected by beavers ( please don't blame Canadians ). They were introduced here years ago for possible fur trade. When the fur was not great as it is not cold enough here for them  to get thicker coats they were set free into the wild. This of course leads to rapid reproduction and distruction of massive areas as they eat away at the trees.
