Tamarindo

Tamarindo was our last city. A beach town where relaxing was the order of business. We took a cruise trying out stand up boards and went out on a hiking day trip but most of the time was spent swimming at the beach. An incredible way to end the trip.

Last stop Costa Rica. - Arenal.

Costa Rica is the last country we visited on this trip. We started out by going the Arenal region with the volcano looking over us. We zip lined, watched for birds, tubed , hiked and went to amazing hot springs.

Bocas del Toros

Bocas del Toras was our last stop in our short week in Panama. Dianne found us a very interesting hostel/ beach house that had a dock and water views. We took a day to do some more snorkelling and spend time on a white sand beach. Dolphins and sloths were the animals of choice on this trip with many fish and lots of coral. The best part of this couple of days was just chilling in the hammocks reading books.
While doing the blog today Dianne and I are in the airport waiting several hours for a second flight leading to the last stop on this trip, Costa Rica.

Boquete

Boquete is known for coffee and has become a retirement community for many people from the States, Canada and Europe. Our friend Jackie has a friend Debra who runs an amazing B and  B in Boquete so we had the first class treatment. Hiking and a coffee tour along with some great relaxing filled our couple of days here.

Panama - Panama City

It was sad to go but we left South America after 3 months and began our way home in Central America starting in Panama. Arriving in Panama City Dianne and I were both quite surprised at how big and developed the city was. Skyscrapers and a beautiful running path along the water were not expected. This is much more modern then any of the cities we had seen in South America. Casco Viejo is the older historic part of Panama City with buildings that are being restored to their old glory. We also went out to visit the world famous canal.
