La Pinta , Part 2

Our second full day of La Pinta and we were off to Espanola a smaller island with lots of birds.  The highlight here was watching birds taking off and flying over a beautiful cliff area.  Giant Albatross are the real attraction here along with Nazca Boobies, Frigates and we even say a Galapagos Hawk. Sea Iguanas are also very unique to this island as the will swim in order to get food and spit salt out of their noses.

Galapagos, La Pinta , Part 1

Dianne and I decided to take our chances and book a boat cruise last minute to see what we could get.  What we got was the Luxury boat La Pinta.  This is living like we have never done before.  The boat, the food, the excursions were all just incredible.  We did not want to leave.
The first day of the cruise took us around San Cristobol island with lots of blue and red footed boobies one of the rare birds in the Galapagos. |One of the best sites was seeing a blue footed boobie with a chick.  This is quite special as they only lay 3 eggs at a time and of the 3 only 1 may make it to adulthood. We also got to snorkel and play with sealions.  Frigate birds also like to fly the boat with the males having a very distinctive red patch on the front that they will puff our when trying to meet a female.
Our sunset was also the nicest we have had in South America and a perfect way to end our first day.
The first picture is also the view that we woke up to on our first day.
