Gorilla Trekking by far the highlight of the trip. We trekked up the mountain in Rwanda for about an hour, getting stung by stinging nettle, a plant that really does sting. Finally when we got to the gorillas we were inches away from 14 of them. They really didn't pay to much attention to us. They were busy eating. We got to stay with them for an hour. It was amazing! They seemed so tame.

We were handing out candy to the children. Here we are starting our gorilla trek. This is our group that went. It was awesome.

campsites

A few campsites. That's Alberts group making dinner. The nile river where we went white water rafting.

We stopped on the side of the road for lunch. We got stuck in mud and had to be pulled out with the help of a truck. Took us an hour to get out, but it was only the second day on the road and found that the group really bonded together. That's when we really new that we had an awesome group of people to travel with.

African Animals

These are the first of many african animals that we saw. Those two little guys are jackals. The animals were beautiful and could care less that we were around.

This is a little of how we lived for 3 1/2 weeks. Put up the tent every night. Having dinner under the truck. We were put into groups and each group had a job to do, such as; cleaning the truck, cooking and packing. Which was rotated each day. Great group, lots of fun!

africa pics

we were unable to blog in Africa, so now I'm home and have decided to update with a few pictures for those that I won't see for a while.
