Animals in the Maasi Mari

Those are wildabeasts on the road. They were migrating to the Maasi. Zebras are protecting each other. More hippos in the water. Just down stream from the hippos was a crocodile. They say in Africa that hippos are the number 1 aggresive and harmful animals.

Maasi Mari animals

We are on a "game drive" in the Maasi Mari. That's the acacia tree a native tree in Africa. A family of giraffes. Our first lioness. A vulture getting ready to devour what is left of the lion's kill. Remains of the lion's kill and after the vulture got to it.

We split our group up and hopped into these mini vans, the roofs pop up to get a better view of the animals. We headed to the Maasi Mari game reserve. We went on a game drive and saw lots of animals (pics to come next). These were the tents we stayed in.......not bad. We decided to go hot air ballooning. Unfortunately it was too windy and we couldn't go. It was exciting watching them blow them up.

We took a boat ride and saw lots of hippos. Fed the giraffes...........now that's a tongue!!
Those are orphaned elephants, found stranded in the wild. They are looked after until the age of 4 then they put them back in the wild.

We stopped to buy bananas from a little girl. Boys haveing fun!! Albert getting his $3.00 hair cut. Sunset on the nile river. Partying at the camp bar.
