Perfume Pagoda

As it should be we had a woman row us down the river to the Perfume Pagoda a beautiful Chinese Pagoda ( temple ). We climbed mountain ( sweat a bucketload ) to a cave which had secrets from the war and several Buddist icons in them. It was a hard climb as one of the guys in our group fainted. The boat ride was great though a woman who seemed to be 60 rowed us for 1 hour each way while we ate grapes.

Not another boat ride

After going down the Mekong on the slow boat I cannot believe we decided to take another boat ride. This one was in Ha Long bay a beautiful site about 3 hours outside of Hanoi. A beautiful bay with caves to explore, swimming the warm water and lots of beautiful rock formations. We stayed in Cat Ba island ( instead of on the boat) and enjoy a lovely small coastal village.

Good Morning Viet Nam

Leaving Laos was a pleasure as we entered the fast paced city of Hanoi in Viet Nam. 4 million people 2 million motorcycles, many roads to cross. Life passes before your eyes.
