Namibia - Etosha

Of all the countries I think this was my favourite. It has a beauty unlike any other. We spent a short time in the capital of Windoek before going onto Etosha. This was another game park but with a difference. Etosha has a series of waterholes that you can visit. One is at the campsite that we stayed at and it is lit up at night so you can see the animals come to drink. This place truly was amazing because you could sit for a long time and see nothing and then you would have giraffes come in or rhinos or elephants and it was so beautiful because the animals come to you. It was like watching a live IMAX film. Unfortunately I missed the lion at the watering hole but I did get to see them on the game drives. Etosha was one of the places I enjoyed most on the trip

Bushman of Botswana

Now the last thing we did in Botswana before leaving for Namibia was to do a Bushman tour. These people are part of the local indigenious tribe that live in Botswana. The outfits they are wearing are tradtional and although they don't wear them all the time now they are still used during very hot seasons. They showed us how to survive in the bush when it looked like there was no food around.
