Swakopmund

Swakopmund is the adventure capital of Namibia. This is a great town on the edge of the desert and waters edge. Fun is the name of this place. I got to try sandboarding both standing up and laying down. Although I improved at the stand up boarding it was not my favourite. Thanks to Dave who went straight down his first run and having to walk up the sand dunes I was a bit scared and tired most of the day. Now the laying down was an absolute blast. Just like tobogganing only less snow and more sand.

Seal Colony

Namibia was one of my favourite places because of the diversity. One of the interesting and unexpected visits was to the seal colony along the coast. You drive through barren ares and then into the dessert and then hit water and this really smelly seal colony. Hundreds of loud barking seals.

Spitzkoppe

From the animals of Etosha we moved the natural beauty of Spitzkoppe. When you first arrive you wonder why are we here? this is the middle of nowhere. The beauty of the place took a few minutes to sink in and we hiked around the area of rock formations and I even spent the night sleeping outside under the stars. It was just a very peaceful place.

More of Etosha

I just had to put in more photos of Etosha because it was just so beautiful. At one point in the evening there were 16 giraffes, 3 rhinos and at least 10 zebras. It was just incredible to see the animals come in, drink and leave in quite a procession.
