Zambia - Victoria Falls

After the relaxation time in Malawi we headed in to the scrub lands of Zambia and off to the adventure capital in Victoria Falls. Having lived in Niagara Falls for years Victoria Falls does not have the amount of water in one place especially because it was dry season but the sure size was quite incredible. It was also quite interesting because you could walk right up to the edge of the falls and look over. This is also the adventure area. I got to fulfill one of my goals and that was to do a microlight flight which is amazing, I also bungy jumped, did a gorge swing ( with Gary), a flying fox. Gary and I also went into Zimbabwe to see the falls and do a lion encounter which was really great. There was also the boat cruise down the Zambezi river.

Malawi

After relaxing on Zanibar we headed back to Dar es Salaam, through the last of Tanzania and onto Malawi. This was now back to our original tour guides, Matt and Biggie, but with a new group of people. There were 22 people now on this truck. Our next major stops were in Malawi. This is a very pour country but also a very beautiful one. It has a huge fresh lake in the middle of it which is where we spent most of our time. Relaxing on the beach was again the order of things to do in Malawi. They also produce beautiful wood carved products so some souvenier shopping was also in order here.

Zanzibar

After Dianne left I got to continue on to Zanzibar which is an old slave island that is now well know for its beaches, beautiful sunsets and spices. I really missed Dianne because this place had beautiful white sandy beaches and a great place to stay. This was also where the group who had travelled together for so long began to separate as most people ended their tours here. So after seeing Dianne leave I then had to say good-bye to some great travelling companions.
